£ 350.00 ono if any one wants it
The 2010 Liquid Force Hi Fi Comp has taken all the good points from the 2009 Hi Fi and Hi Fi Comp and merged them together to produce the ultimate high depower C kite.
The grunty power of the 2009 Hi Fi and the aggressive performance of the 2009 Hi Fi Comp has produced the ultimate kite – powerful, fast through the sky, grunty, massive pop and high depower.
The Hi Fi comp is considered a C ‘Hybrid’, it has improved the performance of any 2009 C kite on the market but has the ease of relaunch, safety and high depower of almost any SLE.
Due to the technology and profile designs taken from the Envy and Havoc, the Hi Fi Comp will relaunch like any SLE, similar to the 2009 Hi Fi. Just pull a back line and it pivot from the water and launch up from the edge of the window.
Multiple attachment points – The Hi Fi Comp continues the technology taken from the 2009 model in which multiple attachment points were available. It boasts 3 for the front lines and 2 at the rear to set the kite up to perform exactly how the rider wished. It can be switched from a freestyle kiteloop beast to a hardcore grunty wakestyle machine in seconds. With options for fast and slow turning and high or low depower to suit any rider.
Proven diamond wingtips
*LF Diamond wingtips- Just like the Envy, the Hi Fi Comp has continued the much trusted Diamond wingtip design -The design has been tested on all the Liquid Force products for the past two years and they have been a massive success. They take the swept wing tip technology allowing forwards tilt and therefore maximum depower but keep the square wide ends giving fast turning speed, solid structure and best of all- reducing the chance of damaging the kite in slams. This is because the whole leading edge touches the water at the same time during a crash (like a C kite), all the way to the wing tips, therefore spreading the load evenly and not causing an deformation and excess tension in the trailing edge, which is what causes kites to tear in half. Your average swept wing tip kite rolls all the way to the wing tips during a crash completely deforming the kite and causing massive amounts of tension in the trailing edge and all too often, large repairs!
These wingtips allow the Hi Fi comp the massive amounts of depower it has but still remains responsive. I don’t think there has ever been a kite with such direct ‘C’ kite feel and feedback but also this amount of depower ever made.
5 strut C kite structure
The 2010 Hi Fi Comp boasts a C kite shape so needs the 5 struts to hold its structure. The solid structure is a proven platform for constant pull and pop, specifically for freestyle and wake style manoeuvres. The struts are super thin to minimise drag and weight but maximise the kite speed through the air.
Thin leading edge / deep canopy
The latest designs in performance kites see the LE become thinner and thinner. The reason being that this allows them to cut through the air more easily, minimising drag and creating a fast and responsive kite. This increases the height of jumps and causes the kite to come out of kite loops much faster. The Hi Fi comp is no exception and has taken it to a new level. The leading edge is really narrow for maximum performance.
Having a thin LE and efficient kite means the design can allow a slightly deeper canopy for more grunty pull similar to the 2009 Hi Fi. Usually this would slow the kite down too much because of the excess drag from the air running over the extra canopy material (from being deeper) but the kite is already so efficient it doesn’t affect it in any way. So the Hi Fi Comp is grunty but aggressively quick through the sky. You may see that other kite brands are starting to replicate this idea on their own designs to get the great low end the Hi Fi has offered over the past two years.
USB 2.0 5th Line Bridle
The Hi Fi Comp flies on 5 lines. It uses a 5th line bridle to spread the load across the leading edge to maximise stability. This feature has worked excellently on the 2009 models and this year is no different. It holds the kites in a solid C structure and allows no deformation. The 5th line has the same attachment on the CPR bar as the two front lines, so when trimmed to depower, all 3 lines stay the same tension from the bar, keeping the kite the correct shape all of the time. The 5th line can be leashed to for added safety if the user wishes.
Nuke proof construction
The Hi Fi Comp possesses the same nuke proof construction as the whole Liquid Force range with triple stitching and double glued seems, Tejin rip stop canopy and reinforced segments along with buffers along the LE. The canopy has been designed tested and redesigned so as to minimise stress on any segment of the kite and spreading the force from an impact with the water or land. This massively reduces the risk of the kite tearing from any point along the canopy whether in a wave or from an impact. Its a kite designed for competitions and competition riders who practice tricks and abuse their kites. This is not a kite you are likely to find in two pieces!
Thomas Alsbirks winter job is to megaloop the prototypes into the water to find areas of weakness and improve on them until the final product is faultless. We have designed this product that will continually keep you on the water rather than in the repair shop!
Cleanest bar ever
The Hi Fi Comp uses the same CPR bar as the Havoc and Envy but with the 5th line set up. Please see details below.
Once again Julien Fillion has produced a market leading design to out perform any other performance kite on the market but with far superior ease of use and progression available.
