A bit of advice would be appreciated!

Hey guys, been checking out this forum for the past number of weeks and finally gone for my first post! Completed a level 2 kite course at the end of September and felt pretty confident, just need to work on it and get practicing really. Now looking for a setup and spied one on the kites for sale section on here, but listed on eBay, link below:

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Cabrinha-9m-kitesurf-complete-setup-/160674291177?_trksid=p3286.m7&_trkparms=algo%3DLVI%26itu%3DUCI%26otn%3D1%26po%3DLVI%26ps%3D63%26clkid%3D3912206735919568518

Just completed my move to Newcastle and was wondering if anyone could cast their eye over it and give me a second opinion. I've checked other listings and they seem pretty far away so I'd like to get something local so i can collect.

Would anyone oblige me & offer some advice?

Any suggestions what location i would be best starting at? My lessons were in fairly flat water so not looking to hit big waves yet. Feel like I should improve turns & kite control before taking off.....

hi jamie

yes looks like it will be a good beginers setup.

how much do you weigh?

a 9m will be a good size to learn on especially as its getting into winter and the wind is generally stronger over winter. then once you start getting the hang of things then you can always add a 12 for lighter winds. (if you are a lighter rider you might find the 9m as a good one kite quiver)

the board is also a good size for learning on and should be a good board to progress on. If you are a lighter rider (70-80kg) then you might find that once your up and riding, turning, jumps ect, you might want a smaller board, but you can always keep this one as a light wind board
if you are a heavier rider (80kg+) then you will find this a good alround size

as for locations theres loads to choose from , check out the location guide on the main page, it tells you what beaches work in what direction and and hazards ect.

as for flat water, just keep an eye on the surf forecasts and look out for flat days and then youve got a choice of beaches. However if theres waves forecast you will want to be at a more shelterd beach. I kite at the chem works all the time, its got a flat water lagoon at low tide and one at high tide (5.2m +) so even when theres waves forecast then there is still some flat water to play in.

(p.s if you want me to p.m you a guide price of what to expect to pay fore the setup then let me know)
