I've been riding both now for quite a while and really feel I've got to grips with them. The more I ride them together the better it gets. I couldn't be happier with the combination for light winds and smallish (up to 5ft) waves.
The dialer is so forgiving being so wide. You can really mess up your gybe and it will still get you round. It gets going very early on and point high up wind. I love it on the wave. It feels much more familiar to my normal surfboards that I paddle in on. In fact, I can paddle in on the dialer, for this the waves have to be pretty steep but if you are lighter than me (85 kg) and handy in the surf this will easily be a cross over board.
The 12m one is pretty special when it comes to waves. It is seriously light in the air and will drift down the line in an ants fart! Perfect for lightish winds and waves. It will also turn really quickly for it's size if you give it some heavy steering input, just needs the lines kept tight for the best results. I've also had it out with the twin tip. There are far better kites out there for freeride / freestyle. It boosts well but kiteloops are weak. However, for my level it is adequate and it is so good in the waves I can forgive it's freestyle performance.
Relaunch is so easy. Every time I've crashed it I've got it back up before the next wave. All in all, a very friendly kite for beginners that excels big time in the waves.
I'm half tempted to search for a second hand 9m one........
