Airush one

Postby mick oliver on Tue Oct 18, 2011 9:13 pm

I have just bought a 12 m airush one kite to play in the waves as I am spending more time trying to waveride . It's a strange looking kite with one strut and a massive leading edge , it's designed for light wind onshore waveriding so let's hope it's good , couldn't believe how light it was and quick to pump up , so I decided to weigh it 7 kg including kite bag compared to 11 kg for my t5 12 m kite and bag ! Thought this this would be good for traveling as Barry has just been charged £190 for 30 kg of sports luggage prebooked with easy jet so that's me never flying with them

I've got the 12m. I bought it for the same reason and have not been disappointed. For a 12m, it is fantastic in the waves. It drifts like nothing else I've flown and is super light. It turns very well for its size.

It is pretty poor at freestyle but that is to be expected. I'm doing less and less of that nowadays anyway - waves is where it is at for me :D

If a cheap 9m came up, I would go for it aswell.

I'm hoping to get out for a regular surf after work at Tynemouth tomorrow. I'm loving the SUP but anything bigger than 3ft, I'd still prefer to be on my regular board. I went and bought a firewire sweet potato in May and it has been fantastic. Made for small waves, but as long as it isn't too hollow it is good in the big stuff as well. Thursday looks great :D
