Barra in October?

Postby colin on Mon Sep 19, 2011 10:08 pm

Hey all,

Having got the hang of this crazy sport in the North East I'm feeling like it's time to spread my wings and venture out of the relative safety of the local spots.

I've got a week off work starting 15th October and i'm thinking about heading to Barra. Is this madness in October?

Anyone been to Dunard hostel?

Any thoughts appreciated.

Col.

I was there last year camping. It is a wicked island for kiting. Loads of beaches to choose from depending on wind direction.

It might be starting to get a bit chilly in october, but the water should still be ok then. The wind should be crankin too! October is when they have the wave classic on tiree and they arre famed with great wind and waves there for that and on the grand scheme of things tiree ain't too far from barra.

Enjoy!!!
