Blade kites is an Israelen company, the company has only been going a short time but the interest from the Uk has been growing at a fast rate.

As kitesurfing is an expensive sport to get into, you tend to look at the second hand market for kites, but blade kites have been looking at the market for kites that are cheap enough for new comers to get into the sport BUT still have the quality to compete with top leading brands.

Blade are currently producing 2 kites for the market- the vertigo and the beast.

The vertigo
The vertigo has a shape between the traditional C kite and a SLE, it has both bridals and a 5th line. The bridals are there to give more depower to the kite, and the 5th line is there to give an easier re launch. The vertigo is intended on those freestyle riders, who are after a faster and responsive kite but is also great for wave riding-

Even Will James is now riding these kites ( if you dont know who will james there is an article on him in the current issue of kiteworld 25 around page 68) One of the worlds best wave riders.

I have acturally flown the blade vertigo and straight away i fell in love with the kite, I even leant to jump on this kite on the water and currently have a 12 and 16m on order.

The Beast

Before i start the beast i haven't managed to get my hands on one yet, But the new 07 beast is due out soon and is a modified version of the 06, its not as flat as the 06, so would be suitable for beginners right up to experts.
It is the cheaper of the two kite, this kite delivers maximum depower. The unique bridles system of the BEAST is easily adjusted to three different settings to complement the rider's individualized surfing style.

Blade kites are also producing kitesurf boards, the boards on the website are the 06 version and heres a picture of the 07 boards

And comes in 2 sizes 136x 39
126x 38

Do they they also point further upwind, boost higher and make better tea than all the other brands?
