Got a new board and its the first one I need to set up from scratch. Set up is simple enough but does anyone have any secret tips, eg should I set my footpads a little nearer to the heelside edge. Any little gems of information would be greatly appreciated.

As a general rule the distance between the footpads must be larger than your shoulder width.

Wide Stance: lowers a riders center of gravity making it easier to land tricks etc.

Narrower Stance: should make edging easier but don't go too narrow or you'll lose balance.

I think they have got their footstraps upside down, I was going to put mine so that the "BANG" reads the same way as the writing on the board. That gives the widest part of the strap to the inner foot.

Hi Adam,

I think you'll find that they will only go on one way round. To find out, place the footstraps over the screw holes first to give you an idea as they should always be angled so that your foot is at an angle facing outwards towards the tips (i.e. the outer most side of the footstrap should be nearer the heelside edge of the board than the inner most side). If you try doing this the other way round, you'll find that your feet point inwards which is obviously a no go. Hard to describe so hope this makes some sense.

I'll have a look at that. I need everything to be perfect for when I stand on it in my living room cos it doesn't look like i'll get to use it with a kite anytime soon.
