Breo Roam Watch

Postby JomoJ on Wed Jan 27, 2010 9:04 pm

just a quick review of something I think is a good product for kiters.

The Breo watches are moulded in one piece with a silicone rubber band and housing that you just stretch over your hand to put on. There's no clasp or anything to snag so they fit well over your wetsuit and gloves but you have to buy the right size for your wrist since there's no adjustment. Small digital display that will show time and / or date, replaceable battery, waterproof (mine's been in the sea and through the washing machine), cheap at £10 so you're not going to gutted if its lost or broken and lots of colour options. Good stuff.

Don't get a cheap version off ebay they are definitely not water proof and lasted one dip in the sea before breaking

Been using these for the last year and they are really good. Apart from my first one (red ) snapped and faded, it was one of the early ones so thats probably why. my second one (yellow) has held up really well and still looks like new, had it for about 5 months,so obviousley they have improved since the early ones. also got a black one as they where on offer at play.com for £5

I would get the 18cm (mens) as it goes on easier than the 17cm (womens) and should last longer especially if you are taking it of and on when getting changed into your wettie

good point about the sizing, the 18cm is loose on my wrist but just snug over the top of the wetsuit. Has to go on before the gloves otherwise you'd have to stretch the band quite a bit. I think the newer 'neon edition' ones have a thicker band without the little cuts to make it stretchier but should be stronger.
