I wonder if there's any benefit in trying to form a local association to give us some kind of point of contact? Of course its useless if people either don't join or see any benefit but there seem to be plenty of examples where local clubs have helped safeguard sites by self policing.

Who owns the land - Is it Nat. Trust? County Council?

A sign would probably be a good idea as long as it didn't single kiters out from other water users.

i think duke of northumberland estate owns but english manage the reserve (NNR).

http://www.english-nature.org.uk/specia ... NNR_ID=101

sign would help but it's the arrogant and short-sighted mentality of the people who knowingly do it that needs to be addressed. kitesurfing has become a lot more popular in the last year around here, so when the rules are broken it is screamingly obvious.

As a northumbrian and also a kitesurfer, who lives in little ole london, a sign would be of great help.
Its a great spot and should be preserved.
has anyone updated other forums IE stickies to the restrictions.
Please pm me with the details and ill make sure its put on a couple of sites(after ive worked out how to do it).

unfortunatly it wont take many "non locals paying attention, or not knowing the local forums to cause a problem'.

I could sort a sign out if someone local helps with the copy.
Up north on the 17th so could nip up and apply it to said gate.

Does the camp site own the gate?

Also, could nigel help at northernfreestyle?

There is a sign there and has been for 3 years that I have been sailing there. However it is pretty insignificant which is y it doesnt get noticed,. Which makes it not a good notice  As there are now more than the 5 of us surfing there now, maybe a new bigger sign should be erected. saying something like. OI TWITCHERS F***OFF YOU FREAKS!! Mind you after spending 10 days in the HEBS with PETE, I nearly bought meself a nice pair of 'Nocs for those low wind moments ,"Oh my isnt that a pair of Wobble Tits? must be the climate change altrering there migratory flight path." Must emial Bill Oddy so he can alter his new book aptly called " I have seen all the tits in the world."

Found this discussion on the airotherapy forum:

http://www.kiteboomerangjugglingshop.co ... D=428&PN=1

Starts talking about it a few pages into the topic

Seems not everyone knows about the winter restriction so continue to spread the word. Also seems people are waiting to be told rather than not going

Gorilla has tried to let them know so thanks very much for that.

What's to like about it!

"all twitchers can like my scrot" - you've got a high opinion of your scrot, what can there be to like about it? :D

Seriously though, not the best way to keep access to Budle.

So you liked the 07 waroo's then. I've only just got a couple with 1 session on each but first impressions have been good. Can't wait to try them out a few more times.

How expensive was Brazil once you were there? Is it silly cheap?

On Saturday 17/03/07 there were 3 kitesurfers at budle bay.

1) 1st person had a 7m Yellow and black Waroo

2) 2nd person had a 10m Rebel

3) Couldn't tell what the third person had. Orange kite.

Please if people know who these people are, can you please advise them to wait unitil the 1st April. I know its nearly April, but it only takes 1 day to get caught and for watersports to get banned in the bay.

Thanks
