hi all has anyone ever used one when solo launching and landing :wink:

i've not found the need for one on launching, but not sure about landing haven't mastered that one yet

No, when landing my approach is to 'tomb stone' board in sand, release the kite (Flexi Atom) on to safety and wrap the leash round the board. This normally works in all but the most vicious of winds. I'm not sure where I'd put the stake thing whilst riding but I assume you'ld just expect to be taking off/landing in the same place.

yeah think the idea is to leave the stake in the sand and return to it to land

You could always tie a dog to it as a marker :roll: - but watch the tides :lol:

thanks for info :lol: dog might be a good idea but rspca might have something to say :? anyone still alive out there ok whats best dvd instuction for beginners to buy or get a copy from :lol:

Progression Beginner is probably still the best but it was filmed with C Kites so relaunch and self launch are a bit out of date if you're using a bow. You should be able to pick one up for no more than ?10 on ebay (I think I might put mine on). Also do some searches on Youtube. Loads of instruction on there but not all good quality.
