Hi All
Below is the response from the warden at Druridge Bay Country Park, which I think makes it plain and clear that they are all for kiting at Druridge and have no intention of stopping any kiting activities at the Bay. If anything they want to see more.
Hi all.
What ever the National Trust have said about the SMALL area of the bay they manage has no reflection on the current use of Druridge Bay Country Park.
I as manager of Druridge Bay Country Park have been actively encouraging as many none motorised sports and other family friendly activities within our area.
I see it as a positive use of the bay by working alongside all of our user groups, from Power Kiting, Windsurfing, Horse Riding even to the families sand castle making.
I hope this make it quite clear that we have no intention to prevent Kiting of any sort in the park.
I feel we have made huge leaps over the last few years encouraging all the above users, so much so that we now have a working Code Of Conduct with Power Kiters and Power Surfers, which clearly identify sate areas for these sports to take part.
We are now working toward biannual meetings with each of the groups to aid in the safe and considerate use of the park for all.
I have attached the code of conduct leaflet with map,

I've forwarded the code and map to James in the hope that he can upload them onto the forum somehow.
Hopefully we all have a bit more peace of mind now.
Bye!
