F-One Bandits

Postby roryw on Tue May 17, 2011 8:39 pm

has anyone flown an F-One bandit, especially the latest version 4?

Looking at a new 12m kite and unsure of whether to go Slingshot Rally or F-One Bandit. :?:

Cheers,
Rory

slingshot rally all the way.....

Its so refined its unreal. So stable with a nice power delivery. Loads of low end power and is not a slug in the turns, very quick for 12m. Instant relaunch and i reckon its even better than the kahoonas and they were awesome. Boosts and hangtime is massive!! No pullys which gives you nice direct feel to the bar.

The comp stick is also awesome, although mine has generated 4 separate faults. But was either replaced or parts sent out with a question from slingshot. Buts that just my luck as usual with any new bar. Lol

I am sure s2as have a 12 on demo, if not your more than welcome to try mine when i am out. But slingshot rally all the way. Just my opinion of course.....

thanks Andrew, was about to order a Rally 12m and Mark at Boardworx mentioned the Bandit and said that it was great to fly and really light on the bar so you could fly it one handed no problem. He reckons it just sits there are doesn't try to fly to the bottom of the window, so you don't need any input on the bar when one-handed.
that is a good point for me as I like to fly one-handed most of the time, just my style... 8)

My Naish Cults definately need some opposite pressure on the bar to stop them falling to the bottom of the window (and into the water) when parked, what are the Rally's like on this point?

Cheers,
Rory

ummmm, they are fine when riding with 1 hand....I think! There are 3 different settings for the bar pressure on the kite and I have it on the setting furthest away from the wingtip which generates the heaviest pressure (Which I like). Not as much as the 11.5m Kahoona but enough to allow you to feel where the kite is and gives good feedback at all times. Difficult to tell as I have only kept it on that setting.

Next time I go out, I would have to specifically try the 1handed technique as I don't really notice these things when doing so. However, I will give try it at the weekend (If the wind plays ball).

Best option is to try the kites side by side so you can get a good feel for both. Can you not get a Rally and Bandit on demo at the same time??

Just ring them up and ask. You may have to pay a deposit which is about £30 but that gets refunded once they get the kite back.

You may have to pay for postage as well which will cost about £8 or summit

decided to go with the rally after speaking to Angelo at S2AS, he has flown both and reckons the Rally beats the Bandit on most counts.... now proud owner of a 12m Rally! :D
