Footstraps too tight with booties on

Postby squires on Tue Oct 23, 2007 11:27 am

It's getting to that time of year to put the booties on the feet.

Last winter I was having real difficulties getting my size 11's in to the straps no matter how loose I made the straps. I've got a 2006 Underground Flx with standard adjustable straps with Velcro.

Anyone had the same problem and got any tips?

Cheers,
Andy

Hi Andy,

Have you got a choice of screw holes for the straps? If so, widen the base of them. I had the same problem with my 2007 but the pads that fit it have a wider slider style hole to fit to the board so you can adjust the width slightly which did the job.

I have the opposite problem, but the NSI ratchet straps I got off Aido have done the job. They also have loads of slack so id expect they would fit bigger feet, but its ?30 so not exactly a cheap fix for you...
Apparently its last words before being battered and fried were… "at least it auto zeniths… ouch". Lazydog.

Yo Andy,

What i did with my underground was chop up a plastic kitchen chopping board to make four 5x3cm blocks, drilled a hole in them and used them as spacers between the pad and the board. I then got some longer bolts from Trident which cost me all of ?1 and it worked sweet as! You can use more chopping board spacers and longer bolts if you need more room... :D

Thanks for the advice chaps.

I quite fancied Roly's idea with the plastic chopping board, but I might get some inserts from the online shop. I take it I will need 4 of them. Failing that I might try Aido's footstraps.

Aido - do you think they'll do the trick?

Cheers,
Andy

They definitely would. I have size 10 feet and 5mm boots and they adjust so that i can put my hand in between the strap and the top of my booted foot!

yea...if youve got size 8 feet.
wakeboard boot sizing is weird. im a size 10.5 to 11, and i need a size L/XL boot.

ive got a pair of boots, ?100 from sheffield cable park. you deffo have to make sure that they fit on your board first.
