Irish Sea crossing to Silloth

Postby Cpt Kirk on Mon Aug 23, 2010 10:43 pm

Well done to the Cumbria kite club lads for successfully making the crossing from Ireland to Silloth in just under 9 hours and covering 110 miles. Great achievement - i copied this from Facebook

Nick Elliott just kitesurfed across the Irish Sea from Cloghy in Northern Ireland to Silloth in West Cumbria - We covered 110 miles in 9 hours. Severe cramp and blisters combined with a straight downwind tack in light winds made the trip complete torture - for me anyway.

Jon Flinn, Stuart Wood, Frazer Dooley, Martin Sandwith were ...the riders. I'll post a full write up on our website in due course.
