Right then, had the 10m Nemi for a couple of weeks and haven't managed to fly it in ideal conditions yet but will give you my first impressions...
Session 1: 22-27knots (ish) Raining and very choppy and wavy - Tynemouth - 133 ABoard Z-Series
Kite looks to be really well made , the most noticeable things are:
very slim struts and leading edge
no ball valves-the flap seal valve type(don't know what that's called!)
high apsect compared to waroo's
the graphics are freaking awesome! Mine is sexy white and silver...
Other wise the bridle and the canopy etc is the same. The other major addition is the twister tech sections which look to be rock solid...when i saw the graphics on the internet i was a bit worried by the durability as it looked like there were moving parts...but in fact it's just a strip of kevlar stitched in, which is much more flexible than the cuben fibre but is bulletproof as i'm sure you'll all know, this allows the leading edge to twist much more than a solid cuben leading edge, generating more turning force.
In the air the kite is very grunty, but the depower is still very good. In those maxed out conditions i couldn't really throw it around too much but the steering feels amazing, it is so fast...similar to an 07 9m Waroo i would say. But what was clever was that if you were steering normally(ie not pulling too hard) it reacted like a normal kite, but when you cranked it, like i did a couple of times to correct some jumps etc, it really flew round the corners...
It was defo the sweetest kite i have flown, even though i was maxed out in those conditions (i weigh 68kgs)
Session 2: 8-10 knots - Sunny - Nice Waves - Blyth- 133 ABoard Z-Series
This was a downwinder session as there was only just not enough to stay upwind...but all the same the power was impressive. I have flown my 11m 08 waroo quite a few times in similar conditions and the 09 10m Nemi has easily the same amount of power and maybe a bit more. In these conditions the twister tech was really effective and the turning speed was very noticeable in generating power, i was staying upwind as well as my mate Josh who was on a 12m Nobile 666HP...
There were a couple of times i tried under powered kite loops and was surprised by the height i got in those conditions, so much so that i couldn't land them...(honestly!) So i will need a bit more time to get jumps dialled in, but overall it is an amazing kite and a definite step forward interms of performance and handling.
I'll write more when i get the chance to get out in some better conditions...any questions please ask!
Roly
