New, needing advice!

Postby Alekin on Sat Nov 04, 2006 8:10 pm

I'm just getting into kiting, looking to buy my first landboard, been checking out the different styles. Is anyone in the area who can advise on which board to get / avoid? I've got a 3m radsail kite, can't afford to upgrade it yet, and i've been told it'll pull a board.

It'd be good to hook up with anyone in the area sometime.

Cheers!

I WOULD BE MORE THAN HAPPY TO MEET UP DUDE !! im orginally a land based flyer only just got into the water. @ the minute missing the land based stuff.
Board wise. depends on your budget. but i feel that mbs do the best boards
i ride a core 8, aimed for the lighter human, but it does me fine and i weigh quite abit top board. since your a beginner i wouldn't advise spending loads on a board with channel trucks ect. but a core 8 would be a nice board, orthe scrub range is pretty good at the mo. kheos never managed to get my hands on one, but still meant to be good.
I don't mind meeting up some time and i can show mine and u can have a test ride if u like? Where do you fly in gosforth?

Also u could ask for some advise off the racekites lot .
www.racekites.com They have reviews, chat room if your after advice, and generally a really good vibe. And all mainly land based riders.

That's great, cheers fella. I've been flying at tynemouth and mostly been flying on the town moor as it's so close and so windy - been toying with the idea of using my regular skateboard on the path but not tried it yet!

It'd be great to hook up and have a blast on your board - i'm away this weekend but soon would be great if you're around?

Where do you fly?

cheers!

i fly where evers theres wind.South shields has a huge grass area. Tyne mouth is ok can get a bit busy down there sometimes. town moor is ok a bit bumpy but i haven't checked it all out yet, just good fun bobing down the hill and then jumping with the kite !
Im pretty much free most of the time @ uni. so i have mondays and fridays off and weekends ! so all is good.
p.s i can't do NEXT Weekend (18-21st)
but pretty much appart from that im free dude.
