hey there what board size as a begginer would be the best for me to get?? and is there anything i should be looking out for when buying a board?? thank dave
The correct board choice for a beginer is very much related to your weight and height so let us know them and we will be able to advise better Boards have improved massively over the years so you want to buy as recent a design as your budget allows A good beginers board is largely down to surface area the more surface area the easier it will be to get up and riding (which is all you care a bout when learning) Large surface area will also make it perform well in low wind. However there is a downside in that big boards are not a lot of fun to ride once you have the basics under your belt.
Oh, Scrap Dan's suggestion then (Sorry Dan! ). If you were to get a 164 it will be like riding a block of flats.
Personally, i would go for anything from 132 - 136cm long and something around the 41 - 43cm wide. That will also see you through for a couple of years once you’re up and going.
The Nobile NBL or the T5 are really good first time boards. I am sure you will be able to pick one up on the cheap and they are not loads $$ when new.
