Ocean Rodeo Rise 2009

Postby nekitesu on Thu Nov 27, 2008 11:25 pm

I've been trying the 12m Prototype out for a while now thanks to Richard at Ocean Rodeo - I absolutely love it :D Great power for a 12m, quick turning and the best I've flown unhooked - it's so hard to get it to stall! I'll do a full review once I've tried out the other sizes.

I like them so much that I've got myself a quiver and will be selling them through the shop so if you want to have a go just let me know.

Check out the video they have just released to get an idea of their performance:

James,

Just a quick question about the Rise, I’ve been reading the manual and it warns against leashing on the rear lines. I assume you leashed below the bar on the Ocean Rodeo SLE bar and wanted to know firstly if there was any fundamental difference between the OR bar and Best’s bar, and secondly what do you think the difference in the depower of the 2 leashing options would be if you were to pull the safety (i have removed the stopper ball to allow the depower line to extend more easily)?

I have the leash attached to the chicken loop so that when you let go of the bar you get extended depower and that has been all I've ever needed with these kites as they depower really well.

The Ocean Rodeo bar has a depower attachment below the bar as well as a depower cleat below the bar.

It also has a pull strap on 1 of the center lines to flag the kite when landing. This is the same as the 08 & 09 BEST Bar - what year model have you got?

I've only flown the 14m once and found speed very similar to the Nemesis 14m (maybe a little quicker) on the 55cm bar / lines. It pulls like a truck though!
