I'm just after your opinions please.

I've been running this forum for quite a few years now and it is great to see the numbers growing and growing. It has got to a point where it is getting interest from people who would like to advertise on it.

Nothing is final yet but would people feel I've 'sold out' if a smallish banner was put on the forum and a thread that would allow them to post news / events and deals?

I will obviously be getting something out of it but it would also benefit you lot. Members of the North East Kitesurfers Club would get a % discount on equipment.

I brought it up at the Christmas night out and didn't get any objections but not everyone was there so I wanted to check from everyone else. After all, the forum is what it is because of you lot. Contributions are made on a daily basis. It has a wealth of knowledge and is really helpful for meetings, general chat, beginners and people moving to the areas (emails to say so) which is fantastic and I would hate for 'sponsorship' to discourage people visiting the site.

It would be great to go ahead with this but only if the majority are cool with it. If you could take a vote on it that way you stay anonymous.

am I right in thinking you have funded the forum out of your own pocket for many years, so I think its about time you got something back for it

Last year the NE Kitesurf club helped out (thanks guys!) with the hosting but up until then I'd been sorting it all out myself, plus time for maintenance etc.

Just go for it no problem form me.

I think having a specific thread would be a good idea, something like they have on the kiteboarder forum. Everything goes under 'Dealer Sales' maybe?

All looking very positive with only one objection. The sponsorship is now in motion and ill let club members know about discounts etc when it is all in place.
