Hi james. Conditions not lookin great at the moment but may just be ridable at Harwood area. I'm heading up there early friday and will update you on conditions. It's easy to find but if it's worth goin Saturday I'm happy to take you up there or let you know where I go. It's best to avoid the areas covered by Heather when the snow is a bit sparse. Also for your first attempts a better snow coverage may be better, however, that never stopped me!

Conditions at Teeesdale/Harwood today were OK (Fridat 16th Dec) a mixture of good snow cover in some areas and patchy grass cover in others. I was up there very early, straight after I finished my night shift, and managed some riding by moon light before the sun came up! a few pictures are at:-

Just a quick note to see how to get to Teeesdale/Harwood and I was thinking of heading up there in the morning?

Alternatively, has anyone been in the Cheviot's this weekend as coming from Newcastle?

Hi
To get to Harwood, take the B6277 heading NW out of Barnard Castle to Middleton in Teesdale to Langdon Beck, keep going, after a few miles you may see a sign that says Harwood, keep going for another few miles. You will come to a right hand bend with a layby at the side of the road. Hopefully there will be some cars there so you will recognise it, this is Harwood. Head up the hill to the drag lift. If you find yourself on this road heading back down hill you have missed it, but may have just passed the Yadmoss ski tow.

James and me are planning to be there 9:30 tomorrow. We had a good session today, the snow was good, if a touch soft/wet but the coverage was OK. Visibility was fairly poor though. James took to it like a duck to water, some pics at

Sounds good to me and the photo's look good! Better covering than I thought and hopefully a little colder tomorrow!

Will try and lake it down in the morning...
