Took a trip across to Southport hoping for 15 mph. It didn't get below 20 mph all day so I was totally overpowered on a 12m C and so packed in as soon as I launched (wasn't going to travel all that way without giving it a go though). There were about 30 kiters out and they all seemed to be in a relatively small spot considering the size of the beach and the area you can park along the beach. There is a bird zone (no Kites) to the North though which pens you in a bit. The number of kiters makes it daunting for beginners like me but other than that its a great spot. Some nice flat water areas fill up and things are a bit choppier in spots. I chose Southport over Blackpool because I thought there would be fewer people out on the water but I'm not sure it was the right choice. I'll try Blackpool next time I think.
Got to get me a 7m.
