SUP

Right then - with all this no wind - no surf no nothing going on - its quite boring you would think - but all no - Yesterday I decided to get off my arse and go try something completely new and that was SUP (Stand Up Paddleing) Like me your probarly thinking whats the point it looks boring and I couldn't think of anything so dull to try .... But i thought sod it Im not sitting in all day watching XCWeather hoping that a Big arrow will appear by chance.

So I managed to find out theres a guy in Tynemouth whose now renting these boards out like Honestly whose going to pay £600 for a massive board - but then again we pay that for a bit of fabric anyhow I gave this guy a ring JOE and asked if it was possible to hire one out -

Now obviously being right said can you do it and have you done it before - like most I said no but I kitesurf and snowboard so obvisouly Ive got a bit of balance and it turns out he windsurfs aswell. So a bit of banter so he obvisouly said well I cant give you a board and let you go out - So right ok so I have to do a taster session bascially - same as kitesurfing - a bit of tution on how to do it ect ect I said well can I do it today obviously yesterday being a glorious day and I couldn't hack looking at my laptop no more - As you would expect Joe said its not worth my while really unless you can get a group so I phoned all my mates that are still up here and no one wanted to do it - so I texted him saying I couldn't get anyone - to my surprise he texted back ok no worries - I'll do a little tester session 1 to 1 so to speak since it was a glorious day. So heading down to tynemouth - Put my shorty on and arrived and come 2.30 big yellow van turns up pulls out this monster 12ft board - and had my lesson for about half an hour teaching me how to do it ect and away I went and I promise you this its not as easy as it looks. lol

But after an hour I think I cracked it and Joe came out too to join us and teaching me how to catch little waves that we did have ect and it was a right blast - Loved every minute and would defo recommend everyone to have a go and after two hours your pretty beat.

And its something everyone can do - Im off to take the Girlfriend out on Sunday for a tester session and hopefully there might be a few little waves.

If I had some spare cash and a Bigger car I would defo buy one - its not as boring as it looks and its a good giggle.

- Joe is a sound guy and its just started up so I wish him all the best.
