I have a full weekend free at the end of Feb as the Mrs is away with the little un to see her parents. Was thinking might have a run over to Walney if the conditions look right. Might stay over in a B&B? Dave has shown some interest. Anyone else fancy??

Nice one! Aye recon a hot shower and a cooked breakfast in a B&B is the way to go. Im happy to drive as i only pay 12p a mile in the company car. Got a passat estate so could probably fit 2 passengers with gear.

Sounds good, i also had an idea of maybe seeing if we could hire one of the big static caravans on the site that is right by the beach. Not sure if you can rent them, but it is worth a look.

That'd be ace. Cant find it on internet tho. Just the one at the south end which dosent open until easter

Sent Gary From Northwest Kitesurfing a message quizing him on accom and suitable conditions. Heres his reply -

Dan, regarding B&B have a look on the website links page and on the galleries at some accom.
For Roa Island bay you need to get there 1.5 hours either side of high tide I could provide you tide times when you are also at Walney if you wait for 1 hour before low tide it gets pretty flat and shallow too. You need anything from southerly to northerly for Walney and Roa Island will take most wind directions but super gusty on north west, north and north east winds. Let me know if you need more info.

Spoke to Dave today and as we both have the weekend free (26th Feb). We are defo gonna head over. Gonna take the landboards just incase!

A bit early to be trusted but forecast looking good atm Dry Sunny and NW winds. The van didnt do too bad in its MOT either so will be good to go with a shiny new exhaust and MOT. Got room for one more passenger if anyones interested? Poss room to spoon with Dave too?

Looks like theres 6 of us so far all camping or in vans.

Forecasts been up and down all week but now showing good wind Sat & Sun. We plan to be on the beach at Walney for about 11am on Sat staying in the van (providing it gets thru its re-test this morning) overnight for another sesh Sunday. Anyone else coming?
