what kite size

hey also i would like help on what size kites to buy i heard that u should only need two sizes?? im 11 stone and not sure what size i would genraly use?? :idea: :?:

kite size and windranges is a thing that varies from brand to brand.

but yes you are right a two kite quiver generally covers you for 80% of conditions. although it will cover a certain windrange the more kites you have in your quiver the more chance you are going to be riding at the sweet spot of each kite :wink:

at your weight on a 132-138 x 40-42 board id say a 11/7 quiver will cover you from 14knts to 30knts (depending on experience maybe a few knots either side.

but as I say brands vary alot so on brands 11 might have a similar 'useable' windrange as another brands 10.

just to add to that newer kites(2010-12) generally have a larger wind range than similar older kites(2007-09) so you generally need fewer kites to cover same wind range and also the older kites tend to need more wind, ie an older 12m model will have the equivalent wind range of a newer 10m one
