NEKitesurfing: Kitesurf 2 day Weekend Course
The
2 day weekend course is for people who have already decided that kitesurfing is
for them. This is the best way to discover kitesurfing. This course
follows the IKO syllabus which will cover the following areas:

Wind effects and the wind window
-
Safety aspects of kitesurfing
-
Steps of piloting a 2 and 4 line kite
-
Equipment set up
-
Launching and landing
-
Water relaunching your kite
-
Body Dragging through the water
-
Self rescue techniques
-
Your first attempts at getting up on the
board
-
Equipment advice
Your achievements on the course will then be
certified with the IKO Kiteboarder card which will give you a recognised level
of achievement.
Prerequisites:
-
Be able to swim 25m and be confident in the
water
- If you have no previous kite flying experience, I would
strongly recommend you either purchase a 2-3m 2/4 line traction kite and
become competant at kite flying or book the 1/2 day powerkiting course with
NEKitesurfing.
- You must be 18 years or over to take part in a kitesurfing
course. If you are under 18, a parent must be present during the
entire course.
- You are
advised to bring your own wetsuit if you own one. NEKitesurfing only has a limited supply of
wetsuits. If you do not own your own wetsuit, please check to
see if we have one that will fit you.
- Have tons of enthusiasm to try this amazing
sport
- Warm clothes and a jacket for land based
activities.
- NEKitesurfing will provide the rest of your
equipment, including kites, harnesses, buoyancy aids, helmets and
of course the instructor!
